The Blockchain Summer School

ASTRATUM and the Management Academy ADG invited to the Blockchain Summer School BSS18.

The Management Academy ADG

The ADG is the Academy of German Cooperatives, being the management academy of 5600 cooperative banks and organizations, with over 19 mio. members. Since 2009, ADG has been a full member of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), Brussels. It is part of the exclusive circle of the world's leading management academies, business schools and economics colleges from more than 80 countries. These include, for example, the Erasmus University Rotterdam, Insead Fontainebleau, Oxford University, Stanford University, University of Cambridge or the University of St. Gallen.

Over thirty participants received during three days an introduction to the theoretical basics of blockchain, complemented with practical “hands-on” exercises, presentations from and discussions with experienced subject matter experts. After the introduction and hands-on introductions, we had working groups, which developed and presented a blockchain strategy or an own concept.

Three Days Theory and Practice

Our lecturer provided theoretical and practical blockchain know-how transfer and its direct applications via an exciting learning process.

The participants were executives from large groups, managing directors from banks and other financial institutions, lecturers from international universities, asset managers and family offices, lawyers and entrepreneurs. People came from all over Germany, but also nearby Belgium, Luxemburg and some came from New York, using their holidays in Germany to catch up with blockchain technology and use cases.

We hosted blockchain experts from the ADG, the German Blockchain Association Bundesblock, the international Real Estate Association FIBREE, Automotive Group Daimler, the international law office DWF, Fashion Group HUGO BOSS, the telecommunication provider Vodafone, the law office Winheller, and blockchain startups like nodes51, KI Decentralized and Eigenheads.

A Unique Location: The Castle Montabaur

The BSS18 was held in July 2018 in the splendid Castle Montabaur, located between Frankfurt/Main and Cologne. It is located within 45mins from the Frankfurt and Cologne Airports with the high speed train ICE.

The participants stayed in a top hotel in the castle, and enjoyed an all-in menu, enjoying summer in the evening in the beautiful terrace at the top of the castle and a view on the beautiful countryside.
